CLINTONVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A nonprofit organization serving people in need within the Clintonville community celebrated the grand opening of a new facility Friday.
The Compassionate Connections Center (CCC) says the building, named the Fox Communities Credit Union Partner Annex, will be “an entirely community focused space.”
Through its partnerships, the CCC works to fight the threat of poverty in the Clintonville community and provide people access to basic necessities, including home and automobile repairs, food, diapers and other resources to support them at home.
Located at 143 South Main Street, the annex will serve as a permanent centralized hub for the CCC and its partners, housing essential supplies, resources and materials to be distributed. It will also be used to host annual programs and event, eliminating the need to rely on other locations.
“This new building annex will act as a resource space to help provide additional resources and tools that will help individuals and families in our communities thrive,” said Leah Wojnowiak, executive director of the CCC.
Wojnowiak said in the three years since the CCC opened, the organization quickly outgrew its space.
We added so many partners to our organization to help expand services that we needed a bigger space to continue our outreach and to continue to grow our impact,” Wojnowiak said. “With this new community resource annex, we are so excited about the limitless possibilities that we can offer.
Heather Wessley, director of community engagement at Fox Communities Credit Union, spoke about why the company chose to partner with the CCC for this project.
“People that need help right now is higher than it’s ever been, and so the fact that Fox Communities Credit Union could step up to help provide this new annex for the Clintonville community is so special. It’s so very much needed and we’re here to help the community,” Wessley said.
The Fox Communities Credit Union Partner Annex officially opened 11 a.m. Friday.
