GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Northeast Wisconsin area with a waterfront view was rated the state’s most desirable retirement destination in one survey.
Nicolet Drive, which runs from Green Bay, along the eastern shore of the bay, to the community of Benderville, was Wisconsin’s most coveted destination, according to the poll.
Here’s how MarketBeat.com, which conducted the survey of 3,000 people who were either retired or nearing retirement, described the area:
This scenic area along the Bay offers large, waterfront homes with expansive views. It’s a quiet neighborhood that’s still close to the cultural and recreational activities in downtown Green Bay.
Another Wisconsin locale, the Milwaukee suburb of Elm Grove, showed up in the rankings.
Voted as one of the best places to live in the state, Elm Grove offers a suburban retreat with large homes, ample green space, and a strong sense of community. It’s well-suited for retirees looking for a peaceful yet connected lifestyle.
Nicolet Drive was ranked 81st in the U.S., with Elm Grove coming in at 103rd.
Tops in the survey was Wailea, Maui, Hawaii; followed by Pelican Bay, Naples, Florida; and Southeast Gables, Coral Gables, Florida.
