(WTAQ-WLUK) — Outagamie County has announced that they have allocated $1.5 million towards the construction of a 40-unit workforce housing community.
The housing community, called Archive, will be along Wisconsin Avenue between N. Union Street and N. Lawe Street.
Archive will offer affordable rental opportunities for those looking to live in Appleton. Out of the 40 units, 33 of them will be restricted for households with incomes at or below 30%, 50%, or 60% of the County Median income.
The community features include a large community room and dedicated storage units for each apartment on every floor. Archive will also have a community service facility with Fox Valley Literacy, a local non-profit that provides adult education for students in the Fox Valley.
Archive will be developed by MF Housing Partners.
The grant originates from Outagamie County’s decision to allocate $3.5 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds towards affordable housing. The grant helps advance the Fox Cities and Greater Outagamie County Regional Housing Strategy.
