GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A vehicle crashed into a building on Green Bay’s east side Tuesday, sending the driver to the hospital.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to the crash around 10:40 a.m. When crews arrived, they found an SUV inside the first floor of a four-plex unit building.
The driver self-extricated and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. No one was inside the affected area of the building when the crash occurred.
Officials say the building is being evaluated for structural integrity and “it is unknown if and when occupants will be able to return to the building.”
The Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR) assisted with temporary stabilization of the building. Several other agencies responded to the crash, including the Brown County Public Safety Communications, the Green Bay Police Department and the City of Green Bay Building Inspection.
