The Milwaukee Brewers played a back and forth game with the Miami Marlins with the Brewers coming up with the last big rally in a 7-5 victory in Florida Tuesday night. William Contreras continued his hot start to the season with an RBI single in the first and he delivered a two run double in the 4th helping Milwaukee build a 4-1 lead. Starting pitcher Joe Ross survived big trouble until the 6th when Miami plated three runs for the lead. He finished off the sixth allowing five runs on 10 hits. Tobias Myers, another rookie, worked a clean 7th to earn the win. The Brewers finally rally in the 8th was sparked by Christian Yelich who ripped a go ahead, two run triple to the right center field wall. Willy Adames brought home Yelich with a single, his second hit of the night which hopefully brings a weeks-long slump to an end. The Brewers improved to 28-20 on the year, maintaining a game and a half lead on the Cubs. Milwaukee will wrap up the series against the Marlins Wednesday night with Freddy Peralta on the mound against Jesus Luzardo. Pre-game coverage begins at 5:05 PM with a 5:40 PM first pitch on WTAQ.
Another pitcher has landed on the injured list. The Brewers placed Joe Ross on the 10 day IL with a lower back strain. He was able to work just one inning in the series opener against Miami.
