GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — In celebration of the almost 10,000 small businesses and their many contributions to our local economy, the City of Green Bay is recognizing Small Business Week now through May 4.
The 4th Annual Business Walk is planned for Wednesday.
The Business Walk includes community volunteers that will be reaching out to small business owners to get their feedback about the community and discover ways to better support them.
The Business Walk event will gather volunteers who are passionate about supporting the vibrant business community at the Bay Family Restaurant, located at 1301 Military Ave, Green Bay, WI 54304, on May 1, starting at 9 a.m. From there, teams will disperse throughout the city to visit, survey, and engage with local businesses. The Business Walk will also be available online on the City’s website.
The primary objectives of the Business Walk include:
- Building Relationships: Volunteers will have the opportunity to connect directly with business owners, fostering relationships and understanding their unique needs and challenges.
- Identifying Opportunities: By engaging with businesses firsthand, volunteers will gain insights into opportunities for support and growth within the Military Avenue Corridor.
- Providing Resources: Volunteers will offer information about available resources, programs, and services that can benefit local businesses, helping them thrive in the community.
“Our local businesses are the backbone of our community, and by coming together to meet them where they are and offer our support, we can contribute to their success and enhance the overall vitality and prosperity of the area,” said Eric Genrich, Mayor of the City of Green Bay.
Volunteers interested in participating in the Business Walk are encouraged to register in advance by signing up online or reaching out to Wendy Townsend, Project and Program Manager. Participants will receive guidance prior to the event.
Business owners within the City of Green Bay are encouraged to participate. The 2024 surveys are now available on online in English, Spanish and Hmong.
