OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man who shot at his wife was convicted of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, and will be sentenced July 9.
Four other charges against Kasey Oaks, 45, were dropped at Monday’s hearing, court records show.
The incident happened Oct. 12, 2022, at their Nekimi home.
According to the criminal complaint, Oaks’ wife was met at a door, holding a gun. “As she was going out Kasey shot at her but missed and shattered the window on the door,” the complaint states.
Two children, ages 8 and 9, were in the home at the time. They were able run to a neighbor’s house with their mother to get help, as Oaks followed them, the children told police.
Oaks met officers, pointing the shotgun at himself. He eventually put the weapon down and was arrested. A preliminary breath test revealed a BAC of .333.
