APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Mile of Music is back for an 11th year of bringing music fans to downtown Appleton.
This year’s festival is set for Aug. 1-4, organizers announced at a kickoff event Tuesday morning.
“We are excited to announce the eleventh Mile of Music Festival, the first of our second decade,” Dave Willems, experience curator for Mile of Music, said in a news release. “We’re looking forward to more original music in Downtown Appleton this summer and we’re so grateful to our partners and supporters for helping to make the music happen.”
Venues for the free concerts will again stretch from the Lawrence Memorial Chapel on the east to outdoor stages at Emmett’s and Spats on the west. Off College Avenue, venues include Rookie’s to the north and Riverside Bar & Grill and Stone Arch in the flats.
Organizers say Mile 11 may draw 100,000 fans with an estimated economic impact of $6.5 million.
Organizers also announced the first 50 artists for this year’s festival.
