MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in the latest Marquette Law School Poll of Wisconsin voters — but the difference is within the poll’s margin of error.
The poll shows 51% of respondents supporting the Republican Trump compared to 49% backing the Democrat Biden. The numbers are the same no matter whether all registered voters or only likely voters are considered.
The poll’s margin of error for all voters is 4.8 percentage points. For all voters, it’s 5 percentage points.
With independent and third-party candidates considered, likely voters show 42% support for Trump, 41% for Biden, 12% for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 3% for Jill Stein of the Green Party and 1% for Cornel West.
In the U.S. Senate race, incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin leads Republican challenger Eric Hovde 45%-41% among likely voters, with 15% undecided. When asked again who they would choose if they had to make a choice, the candidates were tied at 50%.
The poll of 814 registered voters was conducted April 3-10. Of the respondents, 736 were considered likely voters.
