APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Appleton is gearing up for summer and beyond.
Appleton Downtown, Inc. (ADI) launched its summer itinerary, packed with events starting in May.
During Tuesday’s news conference, ADI revealed details on its events, including the music lineup for the 12-show Heid Music Summer Concert Series at Jones Park.
And the Light the Night Market along College Avenue is expected to feature three dates this year: May 17, July 19 and the holiday edition on Nov. 16.
“Night Market offers an eclectic mix of entertainment and vendors from aerial arts to fire and LED performers. We’re going to bring back the dragon going through the crowd. We’ve got Avenue 55. Mischief and Magic, some costume characters, bubble making, hands-on craft activities, silent disco, a 65-foot slide, inflatable driving range, all kinds of unique opportunities to have a one-of-a-kind experience,” explained ADI executive director, Jennifer Stephany.
Organizers also talked about the Downtown Appleton Farm Market and other annual summer festivities hosted by ADI and its partners, such as the Memorial Day Parade, the Flag Day Parade, Mile of Music, and more.
“The summer season is really the culmination of months and months of planning and preparation and being able to bring together small business owners, entrepreneurs, whether you’re a food truck or brick and mortar business in downtown, there’s benefit to the events in our district so it really does highlight the best of Appleton,” Stephany said.
