GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A recount is complete for a Green Bay City Council race.
City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys initiated the process at 9 a.m. Friday to once again count the ballots for the District 6 seat.
During last week’s spring election, newcomer Joey Prestley defeated incumbent alderperson Steve Campbell, by just 15 votes.
The recount result was the same, with newcomer Prestley winning the race. Incumbent, Steve Campbell previously lost by 15 votes. Following the recount, Campbell lost one vote to a write-in vote — extending Prestley’s win margin to 16.
Final vote count:
Joey Prestley: 355
Steve Campbell: 339.
