The University of Wisconsin Green Bay has given Head Men’s Basketball Coach Sundance Wicks a contract extension after just one year on the job. It was quite a year for the Phoenix however as Wicks took a team that won only three games before his arrival, to 18 wins, the biggest single season turnaround in school and Horizon League history, earning him the conference Coach of the Year honors. Wicks also garnered the Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year Award for the best season by a Division I Head Coach in his first year. The former Wyoming assistant is now under contract through the 2028-2029 season. Financial terms of the extension were not released by the University. The extension comes a day after GB began a search for the successor to women’s Head Coach Kevin Borseth who retired after spending 21 of his 37 years in college women’s basketball.
