ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The future of a new multi-venue event space near the Packers’ practice facility is in question.
Ashwaubenon’s Plan Commission failed to move forward with the proposal at Tuesday’s meeting. Commission members had concerns regarding the amount of on-site parking and liquor licenses.
At the meeting, the owner of Stadium View Bar, Restaurant & Event Hall spoke out against the project, citing the impact it will have on businesses in the area.
The proposed three-story building would be built on the former Imperial Inc. headquarters site on Armed Forces Drive, across the street from the Resch Center and immediately east of Nitschke Field.
It would feature a restaurant, outdoor performance space and a rentable event area. One document refers to the project as the “new Anduzzi’s restaurant” in reference to the sports bar which neighbors the site to the north.
According to documents submitted to Ashwaubenon, obtained by FOX 11:
789 Armed Forces Drive, LLC is proposing to demolish an existing building and build a multi-venue bar and restaurant facility. In addition to constructing the building, the proposed project will include an outdoor performance stage, paved outdoor seating areas and patios, synthetic turf outdoor activity area, parking area with two-way traffic, concrete sidewalks, loading/receiving area, and stormwater management features,” wrote Patrick Skalecki with the architecture firm GRAEF. “The new facility will include a bar/restaurant on each of the first and second levels. The third level will include a rentable event space.
Funding has not been secured for the project. The documents suggest there will be a request for TIF assistance from Ashwaubenon, but no dollar figures are included.
“If adequate financing is not attained, building demolition will proceed, but the razed building footprint will be seeded with grass as depicted on the final page of the site plan packet,” one documents states.
The proposal goes before the Village Board for final action on April 23.
