APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Escape artist, illusionist and magician, Harry Houdini, would have turned 150 years old on Sunday.
And although Houdini was actually born in Budapest, Hungary, he always called Appleton home.
Houdini, born Erik Weisz on March 24, 1874, immigrated to Appleton when he was four years old.
In honor of his birthday, History Museum at the Castle, is highlighting its Harry Houdini exhibit this week.
Chief curator, Dustin Mack, says its one of the largest Harry Houdini collections in the country.
The hands-on interactive display gets people to learn the science behind the magic.
