Milwaukee Bucks
The playoff preview can wait. The Milwaukee Bucks, without Giannis Antetokounmpo, fell to the Boston Celtics at TD Garden Wednesday night 122-119. The Greek Freak sat out another game, this time with a tender hamstring, taking away some of the luster from an anticipated Eastern Conference Finals preview. Boston got 31 points from Jayson Tatum to win their 7th straight and now at 55-14 on the year, have opened up an insurmountable 11 game lead on the Bucks for the regular season Eastern Conference title and a number one seed. The Celtics were in command, leading by 18 heading to the fourth quarter when Damian Lillard and Bobby Portis led a spirited comeback. Lillard finished with 32 points and Portis put up 24 with 15 rebounds as Milwaukee made it a one possession game late but just couldn’t get over the top. Khris Middleton, in his second game back after missing 16, scored 22 points and said afterwards he’s getting his legs back. Milwaukee drops to 44-25 and they’ll return home to host the Brooklyn Nets at Fiserv Forum Thursday night. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:30 PM with a 7:00 PM tip-off on WNFL.
