(WTAQ-WLUK) — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to exercise caution amid an increase of vehicle break-ins and thefts.
Authorities say they have seen a recent uptick of these incidents in the Village of Allouez, near the border of the City of De Pere.
To be your own first line of defense against thieves, officials recommend you:
- Remove all valuables from your vehicle
- Ensure the doors and trunk of your vehicle are locked at all times
- Always take your keys with you
- Park in well lit areas
Officials say being vigilant and exercising good crime prevention habits decreases your likelihood of being a victim of a vehicle break-in or theft.
