Throughout the selection process, I was struck by her commitment to community policing and the well-being of the officers and professional staff she serves with. We are excited to have her on the team,” said GBPD Chief Chris Davis.
Through my 30+ years of law enforcement service, I have learned that success is born out of the ability to lead, recognize, and develop leadership in others so they may carry forward the law enforcement legacy. As Commander, my passion and ability to create leadership that is built on integrity, transparency, cooperation, collaboration, and communication while being fair are investments that I can contribute to the Green Bay Police Department. I chose to be a servant leader, and I have proven throughout my career my reliability in deliverables, developing trust not only among those I lead but with those I serve,” said Seymer-Tabaska.
As for Lieutenant Rick Belanger, he has 25 years of law enforcement experience. He has been serving as acting Commander of the Professional Services Division since November 2023, but will now officially hold the position.
His previous roles in GBPD include lieutenant, officer and dispatcher. He also worked as a firefighter with Ashwaubenon Public Safety.
“He has proven himself to be a highly ethical, experienced police leader in multiple divisions of our department. He possesses a great deal of experience and is well-respected both inside and outside the department,” Davis said of Belanger.
“I have been proudly serving the citizens of the City of Green Bay and Brown County since 1992, most of this time has been respectfully spent at the Green Bay Police Department. I have been honored to take a variety of positions within the agency, many of which have been in a leadership role. I believe that my style of leadership has set an incredible example for many, and I am excited to continue that journey as a Commander,” said Belanger.
A ceremony to swear in Commander Seymer-Tabaska and promote Commander Belanger will be held next month.
