GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Ben Chan wasn’t exaggerating when he called the “Jeopardy!” Tournament of Champions an intellectual knife fight.
After another dramatic finish, the St. Norbert College philosophy professor is just one win away from being declared the victor.
Chan, a Green Bay native who went on a nine-game streak last spring, is competing against six-game champion Troy Meyer and three-game champion Yogesh Raut in the game show’s most prestigious contest.
Three games in, the best-of-seven finals was tied 1:1:1. Chan sat in third place heading into Final Jeopardy Friday, but he was the only contestant to answer the question correctly.
With a genius wager, and perhaps a little luck, Chan managed to squeak by with an incredible $1 win. It’s the second time in four matches he has done so.
“Jeopardy!” aired early Friday due to Big East College Basketball. The Tournament of Champions will continue today on FOX 11 at its normal time of 6 p.m.
