GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The City of Green Bay Parks Committee approved Wednesday the donation of a new train set to Bay Beach Amusement Park.
Last week, an agenda item for the Parks Committee showed the Friends of Bay Beach proposed donating the train to the park.
The train is coming to Green Bay from the Memphis Zoo. It’s a 2007 propane C.P. Huntington with two engines and three passenger cars, including one that is handicap accessible.
Pictures show it as what might be considered more adult-friendly to get into than the traditional trains at the park
“This train would become more of a people-mover with a purpose instead of being just a fun ride. People could easily park on the west end parking lot and take the train to the main ride area,” said the Green Bay Parks assistant director. “This train would be perfect for that.”
Bay Beach Amusement Park opens for the weekends on May 4, with the regular season starting May 21.
