GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — A check presentation was held outside East Town Mall Friday morning for a Green Bay elementary school.
To celebrate today’s opening of the new Burlington store, the company donated $5,000 to Eisenhower Elementary School through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org.
Eisenhower was selected because of it’s location in relation to the store, and because Burlington wanted funding to go towards a Title I school.
Title I schoolwide programs are designed to generate high levels of academic achievement for all students, especially those most in need of additional support.
Amy Fish, Associate Director of Community Partnerships and Grants for the Green Bay Area Public School District, says every teacher at every grade level will get a portion of the funds.
“They will each be allotted a certain amount that they can then do shopping with through Adopt-A-Classroom,” said Fish. “They will be able to get classroom materials, supplies for students; they have a plethora of different things they can shop for.”
The store’s opening Friday brings the 13th Burlington location to Wisconsin.
