GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – If your daily commute takes you across the Leo Frigo Bridge, you have one of the nation’s most scenic drives to work, according to one survey.
Gunther Volkswagen Fort Lauderdale asked 3,000 commuters to select the bridge they’d most like to cross each day.
The Leo Frigo Bridge, which crosses the Fox River just south of its mouth into Green Bay, came in at number 82.
According to the survey:
Spanning the majestic Fox River, this bridge offers commuters a picturesque journey through the heart of the city, providing unrivaled views of the tranquil waters below and the bustling cityscape beyond. As travelers traverse its span, they are greeted by the soothing sights and sounds of the river, while also being afforded panoramic vistas of Green Bay’s vibrant waterfront.
A bridge in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula was ranked in the top 10. The Mackinac Bridge, which connects the state’s upper and lower peninsulas, was ranked 7th. They survey team had this to say:
Connecting the Upper and Lower peninsulas of Michigan, it offers stunning views of the Straits of Mackinac and Lakes Michigan and Huron.
Meanwhile, a second Wisconsin bridge was ranked. The Hoan Bridge in downtown Milwaukee ranked 61st. The survey said:
Standing as a striking symbol of Milwaukee’s skyline, the Hoan Bridge gracefully spans the Milwaukee River, serving as a vital link between communities and offering commuters a captivating journey through the heart of the city. By day, travelers are treated to panoramic views of urban landscapes, with the glimmering waters of Lake Michigan stretching out beyond the horizon. However, it’s at night when the Hoan Bridge truly comes alive, as the city’s lights illuminate the bridge, casting a radiant glow over the Milwaukee River below.
The number one bridge drivers would most like to cross every day was the Admiral Clarey Bridge in Hawaii. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Florida was second, while Arizona’s London Bridge came in third.
