GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A fire left three people without a home Thursday on Green Bay’s west side.
Firefighters say they were called to 838 11th Ave. just before 11:30 a.m. Crews found a couch on fire in the living room of the lower unit of the duplex. The fire was put out within minutes. Firefighters determined the fire had not spread.
Before crews arrived, all residents were able to get out of the building. One was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. Two pets were rescued from the upper unit.
The four people who live in the upper unit were able to return to their home. The three people in the lower unit were displaced.
The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
