PC: Fox 11 Online
ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Center for Childhood Safety wants to teach your children about safety skills this summer.
Online registration is open for Safety Town. Safety Town is a week-long summer camp that has run for over 20 years.
Each year, the summer safety camp teaches safety skills to about 300 local children. The program is for children ages 4-9.
Some safety topics covered are:
- Pedestrian
- Bicycle
- Poison
- Electric
- Pet
- Playground
- Fire
- Car Seat
- Bus
Additionally, older kids will learn more about staying home alone and staying safe online.
The program includes classroom segments, guest presenters, and hands-on experience on the streets of the child-sized safety town. The town is complete with buildings, roads, pavement markings and more.
