The Marquette Golden Eagles went from first to worst in their Big East schedule, falling hard to top ranked Connecticut on the road last weekend but they rebounded against last place DePaul Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum. Marquette, ranked 7th by the AP, 8th in the Coaches Poll, dominated the Blue Demons 105-71. This one was never in doubt as the Golden Eagles roared to a 59-29 lead by halftime. Kameron Jones piled up 34 points and Oso Ighodaro added 15. Tyler Kolek scored just three points but he was still the headliner as he dished out a Marquette single game record 18 assists. He broke the mark once held by current Milwaukee Bucks Coach Doc Rivers who had 16, Tony Miller went above that with 17 assists in a game back in 1995. Now the reigning Big East Player of the Year has the record to himself. Marquette improved to 20-6 with the victory, holding down second place in the Big East at 11-4. They’ll return home to face Xavier on Sunday.
