GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The owner of a now-closed furniture store pleaded not guilty Thursday to federal drug charges.
Christopher Turner faces five counts, including distribution of fentanyl. He returns to court April 3, with an April 15 trial planned.
According to the charges, confidential informants arranged controlled buys of fentanyl from Turner on several occasions, including at Turner Furniture on College Avenue in Grand Chute.
Also, prosecutors added a charge against Andrew Beverlin for allegedly purchasing a 9mm-pistol for Turner, who was prohibited by law from owning a gun due to prior convictions. Beverlin has an arraignment Feb. 29 in federal court.
Originally, Turner was charged in Outagamie County, but the state prosecution was dropped for the federal case.
