Stacie Girling (Brown Co. Jail)
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A woman who allegedly supplied the drugs which her boyfriend overdosed on was charged this week with causing his death.
Stacie Girling, 41, faces one count of first-degree reckless homicide and possession of narcotic drugs.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a Howard residence Nov. 8 for an unconscious man, who was later declared dead. Girling told police she was with the victim and woke up to notice he wasn’t breathing.
An autopsy determined the cause of death to be “toxic effects of fentanyl.”
The victim, 41, is only identified by his initials.
A witness told police Girling obtained fentanyl earlier in the day. The complaint cites phone records and surveillance video of Girling arranging and making a drug deal.
When she was arrested in January, she “repeatedly made statements to the effect of, “I didn’t kill him”,” the complaint states.
