MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) – A Republican bill aimed at restricting abortions in Wisconsin is likely on the fast track to the governor’s veto.
The bill requires voters statewide to approve a ban after 14 weeks of pregnancy except in situations where the mother’s life or health would be at risk.
Republican Senator Mary Felzkowski….
“If Governor Evers chooses to take away the voice of the voters that’s up to him.”
Democrat, Senator Melissa Agard….
“Governor Evers has been very clear time and time again about attacking reproductive rights in the state of Wisconsin.”
Introduced on Friday, the bill has a public hearing today, and Governor Tony Evers has been clear that he intends to veto it if it reaches his desk.
