SANTA CLARA, CA (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Packers season comes to a heartbreaking close, giving up a touchdown to the San Francisco 49ers with just over a minute to play and losing in the NFC Divisional playoff round 24-21.
The number 7 seeded Packers were big underdogs to the 49ers, but outplayed them for much of the game and had a chance to go up by 7 in the 4th quarter, but kicker Anders Carlson missed a 41 yard field goal. The 49ers offense took over from there and marched down field for the winning score.
Jordan Love passes for a pair of touchdowns but also threw 2 interceptions. Aaron Jones gained 100-plus yards on the ground for the 5th game in a row, setting as team record.
The Packers now look to the future, which appears bright. Green Bay was the youngest team to make the NFL post-season and could be a factor for years to come.
