GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Hot on the heels of Winter Storm Avree, Blizzard Bennett’s heaping snow piles put shovels and snow blowers to the test.
“This is one of those storms that is not a lot of fun to be in,” said Ken Hopfensperger of Green Bay.
Saturday was cleanup day for the Green Bay area, after more than a foot of snow came down.
“It’s really difficult. Yeah, there’s a ton,” said Karrie Rau-Courtier. “I mean, I’m not looking forward to brushing off the car.”
Plenty of people already put in a good amount of cleanup work the day before.
“We were out here out here three times yesterday,” said Skyla Arndt. “Every time we would shovel, the wind would bring it right back and we’d have to go back out again.”
“It would look like we got no progress done at all yesterday,” said Derek Arndt. “It was, it felt like a waste.”
While lots of people were hard at work shoveling up all the snow, dozens of others took advantage of the snowfall and went tubing at Triangle Sports Area.
“It was really fun we just got a bunch of snow blown into our face, though,” said Saanvi Kunala.
“It’s kind of cold but it’s super fun,” said Nora Rentmeester.
But the same can’t be said for clearing sidewalks and driveways.
“If you’ve got a big driveway, you definitely should be getting a plow truck because it’s very hard to get by,” said Hopfensperger.
By many accounts, Blizzard Bennett will be one to remember.
“I love the snow I’m not going to lie,” said Rau-Courtier.
“If this is the last snow we get this year, I’m fine,” said Skyla Arndt.
