(WTAQ-WLUK) — Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will no longer appear on the Pat McAfee show this season.
This comes after Rodgers’ insinuated there’s a connection between comedian Jimmy Kimmel and deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein prior to the release of documents naming nearly 200 associates of Epstein.
“A lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, are really hoping that [list] doesn’t come out,” Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee show last week.
Kimmel fired back at the injured New York Jets quarterback via social media, denying the claim. Kimmel said he would accept an apology from Rodgers but doesn’t expect one.
And during Rodgers’ weekly Tuesday appearance on the show this week, he didn’t apologize but said, “I totally understand how serious an allegation of pedophilia would be. For him to be upset about that, I get it,” Rodgers said. “I’m not stupid enough to accuse you of that with absolutely zero evidence, concrete evidence. That’s ridiculous.”
On Wednesday, McAfee said Rodgers Tuesday was done for the season.
It is not clear if Rodgers will return to the show next season.
While Kimmel was not mentioned in any of the recently released Epstein documents, several major figures were including former President Bill Clinton, British royal family member Prince Andrew, Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz and physicist Stephen Hawking.
Though these individuals are not accused of being clients of Epstein, their names in the documents invite questions as to the nature of their association with the notorious sex offender.
