APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The owner of a Grand Chute furniture store pleaded not guilty Friday to charges he dealt drugs, including making drug sales at the store.
Christopher Turner, 31, is charged with five counts, including two of fentanyl delivery. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Friday.
No trial date was set.
According to the criminal complaint, Turner operates Turner Furniture, 2448 W. College Ave. A confidential informant told police Turner is a “major supplier” of fentanyl.
In October, police provided the informant with $180, and tracked him as he entered the store. Afterwards, the informant said he made a drug purchase from Turner, and then provided the drugs to police.
On Dec. 14, police tracked Turner’s vehicle to the store. Investigators arrested him, and found Turner was carrying more than $60,000 in cash.
Police searched the store, and found “18.94 grams of suspected cocaine, 32.81 grams of suspected fentanyl, Christopher’s cell phone and drug paraphernalia.” Investigators also found a letter to Turner about money owed and “using the store to launder money,” the complaint states.
Police also searched Turner’s apartment, and found drugs, drug paraphernalia, and phony $20 bills.
The complaint does not contain any comments from Turner.
