GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — In the season of giving, the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation awarded a record $80,641 in capacity-building grants for nonprofits.
And more than $50,000 of that was given to organizations led by people of color.
Capacity-building grants fund tools and opportunities supporting the long-term success and sustainability of organizations serving Brown, Door, Kewaunee, and Oconto counties.
According to the foundation, this latest grant cycle of nonprofit impact initiative grants is more than double the awards given in previous cycles.
Organizations awarded a Fall 2023 Capacity-Building Grant are:

- Brain Center of Green Bay
- ColorBold Business Association
- COMSA
- Curative Connections
- East Shore Industries
- Golden House
- Safe Shelter
- Urban Cultural Arts & Event Center
- Violence Intervention Project
- We All Rise: African American Resource Center
- You Belong
Capacity-building grants are awarded based on an application process, which includes review by a grants team of community volunteers. Two grant cycles are offered annually. The next application window is February 1 – April 15, 2024. More information is at ggbcf.org/grantsprograms.
