GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The winter holidays bring the season of giving; and the 2023 Toys for Tots campaign in Green Bay is now officially underway.
Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys during the holiday season each year and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.
Donation drop boxes will be placed in various locations throughout the community. A full list of locations is coming soon.
“Last year we collected and distributed around 53,000 toys,” said campaign coordinator Staff Sgt. Cody Rehders. “I’d like to beat that number this year.”
Rehders says they get a lot of donations geared towards kids ages 0-12.
“The age group we struggle the most with donations for is teenagers, so 13-17 year olds,” said Rehders. “They might like jewelry, a car cleaning kit, or whatever else you can think of that a teenager would enjoy.”
The only donations that Toys for Tots will not accept is clothes, shoes, and blankets.
Donations will be collected through December 15.
