MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-METRO) – The remains of former labor leader Jimmy Hoffa could rest in Milwaukee. The one-time Teamsters president disappeared in 1975, believed to be the victim of a hit by organized crime.
Investigators say in 2020, a relative of a former police officer produced a playing card with a note that indicated Hoffa’s remains were buried in the third base area of the old County Stadium, now a paved-over section outside American Family Field in September 1995.
The note also included the name of former Chicago mob boss Joseph Aiuppa.
A search with a cadaver dog reportedly turned up something on the site in October of this year. Federal investigators have not commented.
