MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-METRO) – Manitowoc Schools are changing their mind about free lunch for all.
Superintendent Jim Feil yesterday said he’s asked the state to rejoin the free lunch program.
Last month Feil said Manitowoc Schools were opting out to save money. He said kids who qualified for free and reduced price school lunches would continue to get free and reduced price school lunches.
Now the superintendent is saying he recognizes that his decision was ‘hurting’ the district, and was’ becoming a distraction.’ Still, some parents remain unhappy, and say they want the superintendent held accountable.
