BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Decades-long public servant William “Bill” Clancy died Monday at the age of 87.
Clancy was a longtime member of the Brown County Board of Supervisors, representing the constituents of District 20 beginning in 1988.
He also served his community as the clerk in the town of Holland, dating all the way back to 1965.
In recognition of Clancy’s contributions to Brown County and its employees and residents, Brown County Executive Troy J. Streckenbach and Clerk Patrick W. Moynihan Jr. proclaimed March 21, 2018 “William M. Clancy Day.”
Clancy is also well remembered for hosting Bill Clinton — then governor of Arkansas and a presidential candidate — for a campaign stop at Clancy’s farm in Greenleaf on Oct. 24, 1992.
The pair performed “Danny Boy” together, with Clancy singing and Clinton playing the saxophone.
Visitation will take place at Ryan Funeral Home in De Pere on Oct. 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. and at St. Clare Parish – St. Patrick Askeaton Site in Greenleaf on Oct. 30 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Clancy’s burial service in Greenleaf will follow at 11 a.m.
