(WTAQ-WLUK) — A former state lawmaker from Green Bay has died.
John Klenke died Oct. 10 at age 65, according to his obituary. He served in the Wisconsin Assembly from 2011-15.
Klenke’s successor in the 88th Assembly District, fellow Republican John Macco, said in a statement:
“Representative Klenke was an inspiration to me. He was the one that convinced me to enter politics over a decade ago. I am thankful for his friendship and service to our community.”
Klenke was a 1976 graduate of Green Bay Southwest High School and worked for Ashwaubenon-based Schneider National for more than 20 years.
Funeral services are set for Thursday in Auburn, Alabama, where Klenke most recently lived.
