MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Manitowoc manufacturer’s expansion plans include the addition of 80 jobs.
Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry plans to add 50,000 square feet to its manufacturing facility and renovate 12,000 square feet of office space. WAF makes aluminum and copper-based alloy castings.
“We see how high-quality employment like what we offer can transform lives and we make extra effort to ensure that our jobs are accessible to anyone seeking employment,” WAF CEO Sachin Shivaram said in a news release.
Cinnaire, a company that makes investments and loans to developers and nonprofits on behalf of the U.S. government, is providing $11 million in New Markets Tax Credits toward the project.
“NMTCs will play a huge role in helping us continue to be the type of employer that our community has relied on: One that offers high-quality employment and goes the extra mile to help make these great jobs accessible to low-income individuals,” Shivaram said.
The manufacturing expansion is expected to open in March, with the office remodel being finished in October 2024.
