Make it back to back Division 1 Girls State Golf championships for Izzi Stricker. The daughter of PGA pro Steve Stricker won a second straight medalist honor by shooting 71-73 for an even par 144 two day total at the University Ridge Golf Course outside Madison capturing the D1 title by two shots and helping her Waunakee team to a second place finish in the team standings. Milwaukee’s Divine Savior Holy Angels won the D1 team title with a score of 641, two strokes better than Waunakee. The Bay Port Pirates finished 6th and Kaukauna 7th in the team standings. Adalyn Johnston led the Pirates with a 157 score, finishing 11th overall. Green Bay Preble freshman Emma Cunningham had a solid debut, finishing tied for 12th at 159, that score was matched by Kaukauna’s McKenna Lowe.
In the Division 2 meet, Prescott took the team title with a score of 704, edging Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay by three shots. Appleton Xavier finished 4th. Belle Kongshaug of Colfax/Elk Mound was medalist at 157, winning by a single stroke. Xavier’s Allisa Helminen shot 159 to come in 4th individually while Sophia Baek of Notre Dame led the Triton squad with a 6th place finish at 163.
