MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) – The Brewers spoiled a division rival’s playoff hopes to close out the regular season. Milwaukee beat the Cubs yesterday four-nothing to keep Chicago out of the postseason. The Brewers scored three of their four runs in the first inning, and cruised from there.
In addition to winning the NL Central championship, the Brewers end the season with 92 wins — that’s tied for the seventh most wins in a season in franchise history.
Milwaukee hosts the Diamondbacks for a best-of-three Wild Card series when the postseason begins tomorrow night. The winner of that series has a date with the Dodgers in the NLDS.
