GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Northeast Wisconsin Technical College has received one of its largest donations in the college’s history.
World-class manufacturing leader Gene Haas Foundation awarded NWTC $500,000 to address the talent demand in advanced manufacturing.
The money will be used to help fund financial aid, recruitment, and other academic needs.
“Having the ability to help students, kind of just in time of when they have those needs is a critical part of what we do,” said NWTC President Dr. Kristen Raney. “Having funding like this allows us to on a case-by-case basis, work with students, intervene with support, and help them continue in the pipeline.”
As a thank you, the college renamed its machine tool lab as the “Gene Haas Center for Advanced Machining.”
Over the years, the Gene Haas Foundation has provided more than $175 million in grants.
