MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Manitowoc Police arrested a man who thought he was meeting a 13-year-old for sex.
The suspect, who has not been charged, may appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
According to the probable cause statement, police were called to Lincoln Park for a report of someone there planning to meet a 13-year-old for sex. Police reviewed text messages between the 36-year-old and the teen, in which the man describes a variety of sexual acts he would like to engage in.
Police are requesting charges of exposing a child to harmful materials, using a computer to facilitate a sex crime, child enticement, and attempted sexual assault of a child under age 16.
Police dispatch was notified of the meeting by a group called “Bikers Against Predators,” the probable cause statement says.
