TOWN OF LESSOR, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a crash involving two semi tractor-trailers on Highway 47 in Shawano County.
Around 7:50 a.m. Thursday, deputies from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 47 just north of County Road S.
When deputies arrived on scene, two semis were found disabled across one lane of travel, which led to a shutdown of the entirety of Highway 47 in that area.
Detours were set up to reroute traffic.
Upon investigating the crash, officials determined the semi heading northbound crossed the center line of Highway 47, and the driver of the southbound semi swerved toward the northbound lane in an attempt to avoid the crash.
The semis then collided in the southbound lane.
The driver of the northbound semi sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The person driving the semi headed southbound was not injured in the crash.
Highway 47 remained closed until just after 3 p.m. while the crash was investigated and the semis were removed.
