The Milwaukee Brewers muscled up to bury the St. Louis Cardinals 8-2 Wednesday night at Busch Stadium and the National League Central Division title is becoming a when, not an if. With the Pittsburgh Pirates rocking the Chicago Cubs 13-7 at Wrigley Field, Milwaukee’s lead over the second place Cubs is a comfortable seven games with only ten to play. The Brewers magic number to clinch the division is down to four. Newcomer Josh Donaldson lit the fuse for Milwaukee in game three of the series with a three run blast in the top of the first inning. Brewer starter Adrian Houser gave one back in the bottom half but then settled in for another quality start, working six innings, giving up the one run on four hits. Tyrone Taylor carried the rest of the night with a pair of solo home runs, his second ignited a four run rally in the top of the ninth to put the game out of reach. The Brewers are now 86-66 on the season and they’ll send Wade Miley to the mound against Miles Mikolas in the series finale Thursday afternoon. Pre-game coverage begins at 11:40 AM with a 12:15 PM first pitch on WNFL.
