PULASKI, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A fire that destroyed a commercial building in downtown Pulaski started when a tree branch hit a power line, firefighters say.
Fire Chief James Styczynski said the tree was being cut down behind the building at W. 118 Pulaski St. when it hit the power line Thursday afternoon.
The building housing LaCount Auctions and A Cut Above Salon was destroyed. The building also had apartments on the upper floor and a single-family home attached to the rear.
No injuries were reported. Four dogs survived, but four cats remained missing as of Friday morning.
A stretch of road in front of the building that was closed overnight reopened to traffic Friday.
