GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — New renderings of a socially inclusive housing project in downtown Green Bay is letting in a little more light.
City Center Lofts features 72 high-quality apartments for individuals and families of all income levels on the second floor of the Baylake City Center building.
Earlier this year, one of the major concerns of the project was a lack of windows for 24 of the 72 units.
The new rendering now includes large skylights added to each of the second-floor interior apartments. This is in addition to oversized skylights that will be in the main corridors and front rooms of interior units.
“We have listened to community members who expressed concerns and will be adding skylights to the interior units to increase the amount of natural light,” explained Dr. Lexie Wood, Executive Director of The Gateway Collective, the nonprofit organization leading the project.
Construction of City Center Lofts is currently underway, with applications available this fall. Occupancy is expected in early 2024.
The lofts will feature one- to four-bedroom units, most of which will have loft layouts, all designed with stainless steel appliances, solid surface countertops, luxury vinyl flooring, in-unit washers and dryers and more. Amenities include a fitness space, outdoor patio, climate-controlled bike storage, community gathering spaces and more.
