FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Neenah residents got the chance to check out the community’s new high school.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Sunday afternoon, followed by an open house.
Neenah High School is Wisconsin’s only newly constructed high school opening for the 2023-24 school year.
The more than 440,000-square-foot building was made possible by a nearly $115 million referendum that passed in April 2020.
“It’s simply amazing,” superintendent Mary Pfeiffer said. “It’s really, again, a heartfelt gratitude and thankfulness for our community and really for decades to come. Our students and our families are going to feel this for many, many years.”
“We’ve seen the renderings but to finally walk it and experience it, we’re all still pinching ourselves a little bit,” high school principal Brian Wunderlich said.
The first day of school will be Tuesday, Sept. 5.
