MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A rebuttal to “Making a Murderer” now has a release date.
“Convicting A Murderer” is set to debut Sept. 8 on the streaming platform DailyWire+.
When it was released on Netflix in 2015, “Making a Murderer” drew worldwide attention to the case of Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey, two Manitowoc County men who were convicted in the 2005 murder of freelance photographer Teresa Halbach. Both are serving life sentences in Wisconsin prisons.
“Making a Murderer” cast doubt on the process used to convict Avery and Dassey.
According to a Daily Wire story, “Convicting A Murderer” includes evidence and testimonials “that reveal the side of the story not covered in ‘Making a Murderer.'” It promises interviews with people not included in “Making a Murderer,” including law enforcement officers, family members, and fans of the Netflix show who have spent time investigating the case on their own.
The Sept. 8 premiere includes the first three episodes. The first two episodes will be available free, with the remaining episodes available only to DailyWire+ subscribers. The first episode will also be available on the DailyWire+ YouTube channel and its account on X, formerly Twitter.
The remaining seven episodes are scheduled to be released each Thursday.
