MADISON – Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, in partnership with the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, is proud to present the Sustainable Leadership Seminar Series. The series of five seminars will explore leadership and sustainability in environmental, social and economic spaces.
The series will begin in September. All sessions will take place at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc. Sessions will begin with a continental breakfast at 7:30 AM followed by the presentation from 8-9 AM.
September 15, 2023 – Sustainable Environment
We all have a responsibility to use our resources wisely. During this session, attendees will create their own sustainability goals for the home and workplace. This session will be led by Lauren Brey from Farmers for Sustainable Food and Duane Ducat of Deer Run Dairy, 2022 Outstanding Dairy Farm Sustainability Award recipient.
November 17, 2023 – Sustainable Future
A sustainable workforce leads to long-term success. During this session, attendees will hear from human resources experts on retaining employees and creating a sustainable culture in the workplace. This session will be led by Matt Selvig from Bernatello’s Foods and Michelle Shambeau from Ebert Family Businesses.
January 19, 2024 – Sustainable Storytelling
Consumers care about sustainability. During this session, attendees will learn how to share their sustainability priorities with their customers. This session will be led by Kaitlyn Riley from the Wisconsin Beef Council.
March 15, 2024 – Sustainable Self
Mental health is crucial to a sustainable workplace. Learn methods to take care of yourself and your team. This session will be led by Brenda Statz from the Farmer Angel Network.
May 17, 2024 – Sustainable Service
Doing more with less is a core principle of sustainability. Attendees will learn how to maximize resources with a limited budget and manpower. This session will be led by Courtney Booth from Booth Leadership, LLC.
“Sustaining your business for the long term takes well-rounded leadership,” said WFBF DIrector of Sustainability Communications and Partnerships Rachel Gerbitz. “Sustainability looks different depending on your role and business. During this series, aspiring leaders will apply sustainability tactics to have influence across all areas of their organization.”
Pre-registration is preferred. The cost for each session is $10. A discounted price is offered for attendees that pre-register for all five sessions.
