GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A water-themed exhibit opened Saturday at the Neville Public Museum.
“Down by the Shore” features 23 fiber art pieces from 17 regional artists. The artwork follows a water-based theme with under the sea allusions and sea critters on the shore.
“The group of Wisconsin fiber artists come together and they decide on a them, whether annually or bi-annually, and this one happens to be themed around water and waterways which is unique,” Beth Kowalski, Neville Public Museum Executive Director, said.
The exhibit was at the Door County maritime museum before coming to Green Bay.
“We are one of five public museums in Wisconsin so we have an emphasis on regional art, so when community groups come together we figure we’re the best place for it to be displayed,” Kowalski added.
Down by the Shore is on display through the end of September in the community room of the Neville Public Museum.
